Also, hold puppy at the vet office, many sick animals have been there.--We are very careful not to have sicknesses brought to our farm.  Having never had parvo here, ever, please be respectful not to visit us after you have looked at puppies at people's homes, a pet store or shelter.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

New Families for our Pups

Boys or Girls people often ask..... In our family's opinion, Boys make a better family pet: more laid back, loving, easy going, playful, sweet.  Girls tend to be cleaner, more protective, sometimes higher maintenance and also sweet.

Here's what our puppy's families are saying about us....

It has been the best decision!  I researched and watched her website for literally two years and researched other breeders in the state.  My husband has asthma and is allergic to dogs on top of it.  We are an active/outdoors family.  Growing up, I've always had very large breeds, so we knew if we were going to have a dog it would need to be hypoallergenic and larger (didn't want a shitzu for example).  The idea of a smart, hypoallergenic poodle crossed with the sweet, loving temperament and outdoor passion of a lab or golden retriever seemed ideal.  So we began that search.

A little about my background so you know my perspective and breeding expectations:
Growing up, my parents were dog breeders of AKC show dogs - but most important to us was that they were a part of our family.  They were never treated as product or income or anything of the sort.  Both my parents had full time jobs and their intent was to share the joy and temperament of their breed (weimerauners).  I grew up appreciating and understanding the gift that dogs are to families, breeding for health, temperament and breed standards.  Showing dogs taught dedication, responsibility, commitment.  Raising quality dogs and sharing their joy is a great responsibility and a gift for the values taught and joy that it brings to the families.  Dogs love unconditionally, teach forgiveness, compassion, and bring benefits of laughter, memories and activity to people's lives.

Why we chose Caroline over other breeders:
I don't know if you've met Caroline and her family yet or been to her home, so I will comment on that.  She is well-educated and intellectual.  This impressed me in our first conversation.  Meeting her in person at her home I further discovered that she is family- and values-driven.  Her three young sons, whom I met at her home, were extremely respectful and impressive in their manners and intellect as well.  Her home is clean, organized, family and values-centric, and beautifully designed.  Also, the pups were in the family room in their pen.  This may not sound like things one may look for in a breeder, but it tells me she has standards.  She takes pride and gives great care and attention to her environment and her family.  The fact that the pups were in the main family room told me they were a part of the family and constantly looked after.  I have been to homes where the pups were in a filthy back room or in a garage.  I have been in homes where the house was disgusting - what does that tell you about the health of the pups - if they can't even take care of themselves or their own family, how can you think they will take care of the pets - or are they selling them just for money?  While in Caroline's home I felt that her purpose was to bring loving hypoallergenic dogs into this world for families, not as a supplemental income.  Honestly, when I saw her home and met her wonderful family I knew their priority was for the pups' quality, health, and happiness.

The cost goes into the following:
- shots or other medical needs if necessary.  Caroline will do whatever it takes to ensure the health of the pups, parents, and her other animals.  The animals health is priority at whatever cost.  She is very forthcoming to answer any questions if you would like examples.
- quality pup food - I believe Caroline feeds the pups and mom one of the top-rated foods.  She will tell you exactly what kind.  I researched it myself and it was 4th or 7th in the nation.  I can't remember which, but either way - still great.
- time - Caroline and her family are with the pups full time - holding, crate training, noise training, temperament training - so that when you take your little one home it is crate trained, not crying at night alone, very used to be held and very comfortable). We were

STUNNED that Charlee at 9 weeks old slept all night without whining since the day we brought her home.
- her pups are proven shedless (note: some hybrids and poodle crossbreeds may still shed, but Caroline's do not),
- proven hypoallergenic - just speaking from my family's experience, my husband is extremely allergic, was even tested by a dr to confirm and has severe asthma and Charlee does not bother him at all!,
- temperament is priceless - Charlee is pleasing, super happy and loving.  When I first visited the litter, I came at it with a perspective of my experiences with dog breeding.  I saw the father outside at Caroline's home - very friendly; did not bark at us, and was quite happy to see visitors.  We went inside and the pups were only a few weeks old, and the mom walks up.  I was curious to see how the mom would react - often personality is passed down from parents.  The mother was so friendly, not defensive or aggressive or anything!  She was very fine with me handling her pups.  Also, I noticed she wasn't nervous or anxious either.  She was very calm and trusting.  I also noticed the pups were not whining or hyper.  They were calm, but playful as pups are.  Charlee is 5 1/2 months old now.  She is just the best temperament.  I know that Caroline takes great pride in her pups' temperaments and is extremely cautious and attentive at breeding parents that have wonderful, loving personalities.  I believe she is very family-oriented and her goal is to responsibly create loving pets that integrate into families.  I have also heard that because of their intellect and temperament that they make excellent service and therapy dogs.  Because of their shedless and hypoallergenic qualities, they are also one of the few breeds that are allowed to go into hospitals for therapy use - if you ever want to go that route.  Charlee doesn't bark and doesn't run off either.  We take her out front to play and she stays in our front yard.  She is alert, smart and loving.
- If you make a visit to Caroline's home, you will recognize immediately the quality and attention to detail.  This is evident in the pups' health as well.  My vet (which I've seen multiple times for her series of puppy shots) has said she's in perfect health.  She was worm free.  No stool issues at all.  I had her stool tested for multiple things as well and all negative.  No allergic reactions to any of her shots either.  She has not been sick once.  No eye problems (no runny eyes, or eye boogers).  No smelly breath.  The vet said her joints were perfect, no signs of any issues.  All of her baby teeth came out on schedule and her adult teeth all came in naturally and straight.
- Her coat, in my opinion is more aesthetically pleasing than other labradoodles.  Caroline also breeds for coats - and she has a great eye of which parents will make better coats.  Charlee's coat is soft, not wirey.  It's not super curly and poofy like a poodle either (because of the lab in her).  Also, Caroline's pups are and carry the solid chocolate gene and the parti (dual-colored genes) - both of which are rare and non-dominate genes.  In my research, other breeders had the more wirey coats and I did not see the chocolate or duel-colored options anywhere else.  But, this is not why I picked her pups, but some people are attracted to particular colors.  I was impressed by the pure quality of the parents, pups, and environment.

Another thing that has been fun - Caroline stays in touch with you if you like.  I send her pics w/my phone and email her updates and thank you's and she responds.  Prior to the purchase she was very responsive and did not shy away from any questions.  She was very forthcoming.  When I first called her I asked her several questions on her breeding beliefs, purpose, treatment, etc.  I was very impressed w/her knowledge and responses.

Reflecting on the meeting and purchase - my 5 yr old son came w/me as well.  Caroline's patience and grace with him was impressive.  I could tell by her interaction with him and from speaking with her own children that she has a good heart, which transcends into her impeccable ability to select quality temperament breeding parents.

Honestly, prior to the purchase I did not know Caroline.  I simply did research and compared breeding policies and intent.  I do not support breeders that breed for income reasons.  I genuinely believe Caroline wants families and individuals to be able to experience the love and joy of a dog in their lives that otherwise couldn't because of medical or other reasons.  the fact that Caroline further stays in touch with you months after your purchase supports this belief.  She genuinely cares how the puppy is doing and she will follow up with you and ask you in a friendly way, not pushy.  Just to say hi and see how things are working out.

I was at Caroline's house a couple times and between visits, prior to you being able to take your pup home, you will receive pictures of him/her.  It was so fun to get random pics of our little girl during the day.  I couldn't wait to bring her home, but it helped getting pics of her until we could.

When you take your little one home, you get a toy, bag, a shirt that smells like one of the family members - which we put in the pen with our pup at home for the first week and she really loved it - helped with the transition.  You get all the paperwork, shot info (lot number, etc).  You get a bunch of the puppy food so you can gradually transition your little one to their new food without any tummy problems.  Caroline is very organized and very forthcoming about anything you ask her.

We never thought we could have a dog because of my husband's severe allergies mixed w/asthma.  Charlee was a blessing and worth every penney.  If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to write again.  Best wishes!!

Charlee had her final (4th) puppy shot on Saturday and rabies shot, as well as microchipped.  She weighed in at 20.5 pounds.  So, we're excited because we wanted a bigger dog, so we're super happy!  Her coat is gorgeous.  Still that deep chocolate brown and wavy and super soft.  He did a full exam on her again and said she was in perfect health.  She's potty trained now and we are able to leave her out of her kennel all night.  She sleeps through the night.  She is NOT a chewer - she hasn't chewed anything, nor shown any interest in doing so (shoes, pillows, furniture, Carter's toys, etc).  She sticks to her toys.  I just bought her a bunch of new toys today too - I like to introduce her to new things to keep her mind working.  We've taken her in the pool twice and she loved it - kept trying to jump in my arms, kept wanting to go back in the pool.  I'm teaching her where the steps are.  We have a pool fence all the way around the pool that is locked at all times with a key -   We keep her inside all day.  She sits at the door or comes and gets us when she needs to go potty.  She is a TOTAL SWEETHEART!  She's super gentle and loving.  Our son cried this past Sunday night when he knew he had to go back to school Monday morning.  When I asked him what was wrong he said he was going to miss Charlee so much!  We have NOT taken her in public yet.  The vet said wait a couple more weeks for that 4th puppy shot to kick in.  But, we've taken her on car trips where Gary and Carter wait in the car with her and I run into the store, to get her used to being in the car.  When I've worked in the yard gardening, I take her out with me, including the front yard.  She is so good - she doesn't run off or anything.  She stays right with me and is very responsive.  She also is trained to sit and lay down.  She doesn't dig either, but is naturally curious and inquisitive - very alert and does a cute pointing stance!  We love her so much - thank you Caroline!

Hi there! We bought a wonderful little Aussiedoodle puppy from you back in April. We name him Meatball...I've attached some pictures for you to see.

I'm curious about the breed in general, and if any feedback from owners who got Aussiedoodles. Meatball is hands down the most incredible dog I've ever come in contact with. He's incredibly smart, empathetic, patient, aware, funny, and intuitive, and not to mention just a beautiful dog. People stop us constantly and tell us that he looks like a show dog. He's incredible with babies and small dogs, will get down on their level, allow them to feel comfortable with them, before he continues in his playful spirit. He's been around babies often, and he will lay next to them and just let them love on him and pull his hair and he appears to love it. He has such human characteristics and mannerisms, its so interesting. He has a calming affect to him...my parents have very unsocial dogs who don't get along well with all people or dogs; however, around Meatball they are wonderful and they play fantastically together. We've kind of tested this with other dogs with similar personalities, and he will truly get along with any dog. We've had suggestions that he needs to be one of those dogs that goes around to nursing homes, cheering people up. He has an infections personality, that you can only be happy around.
I guess, I'm just wondering if these personality traits run in the breed or if we just got incredible lucky.
Thanks for breeding such an incredible dog, we're truly blessed by Meatball!

Our response:

You made our day!! Thank you. This is why we have made this our life, we adore our dogs and love holding every puppy everyday. We have had 100% over the top positive feedback like yours. Not to sound boastful but it must be the love our whole family pours out to them from birth because whether its a dane, aussiedoodle , goldendoodle or labradoodle, we get the same feed back. Whether its a 20 lb. or 200 lb. breed the results appear to be the same. We thank God for this opportunity to do what we love and the outcome has been wonderful beyond our greatest expectation. Tom and I are both home full time and the 5 kids all take part to ensure that each puppy gets a great start in life, it is very rewarding for us.
Yes, I think you should do therapy dog work in the hospitals or somewhere. He won't be the first, we have donated to children with health issues, for them to be companion dogs as well as some of our dogs have becoming therapy dogs. One will be used in a psychologist's office. It is amazing how much joy and peace a beloved pet can bring to people. Thank you again for sharing.

Hi Caroline! Deb Ogden in Prescott . First I have to say, Cooper is the love of my life! He is so sweet, smart and loyal. We jog together and he did not have to be trained to stay at my side…he just does and did from the first jogging. Any way. Just wanted to see what little guys or girls you have avail currently. Just curious. People are loving my little Cooper (Mini Cooper). Just in case someone is really interested. He is 21 lbs now. Guessing he will be closer to 30 lb  mark. He is 5 and ½ months now. Not sure when they stop growing. 9 months or so? He is getting his rabies this week and I will send you the info on his surgery, vaccines, and his chip for your records.Hope all is well. When I get situated financially (someday) I will look in to another one. Don’t know if another could be as sweet and loving but Im guessing so. He is a winner! And so am I now that I have him. Deb

Hi Caroline,

I just to let you know how happy we are with our little boy! He has managed to integrate himself into our lives so much that it’s hard to believe it’s only been two months. He goes to the dog park, on walks and is in puppy training at PetSmart. He is just the light our of lives. And I have a confession: after all those sleepless nights of crate training at night….guess where he now sleeps… with us. He’s so snuggley, we couldn’t resist him.

Thanks again for showing us so much joy.  And  of course I am spokes person for AZdanesndoodles!!

 Kim

This aussiedoodle will be used as a therapy dog.
There are no words.... so I will let this picture tell it all. With humble gratitude, Lori

Dear Caroline,

I wanted to thank you so much for our precious gift you and your family have given to our family.  His name is Shadow and he is the most amazing, loving smart dog I have ever owned.  I can’t take him anywhere without someone stopping me and asking me what kind of dog he is and that he is the cutest dog ever.  Cars actually pull over to the side of the road to talk with us about Shadow.

I also wanted to take the time to  thank you for the very kind, and easy transaction we had.  I have never had a more positive experience buying a puppy from a breeder.  (to be honest I was always uneasy about breeders)  You, on the other hand completely changed my attitude about the good breeders.  The minute I walked into your home I felt the love from your family and I could see just how loved these animals are.  Your boys were truly amazing with my family and the pups it was such a joy and positive experience I didn’t have to worry about anything you wormed them, gave them their shots and when I took Shadow to the vet for his first check up he told me the puppy was in perfect health and his weight was perfect.  We even sent in a stool sample to be tested and he was clean as a whistle. (ha ha)

In closing I would like to compliment you on mama and papa dog.  I couldn’t have had such a great puppy if you did not take the care and knowledge you have in choosing the perfect parents.  I honestly can’t wait to get another puppy from you and your family and I would recommend you to anyone who was looking for a puppy.

Thank you again,

Kellie McClanahan

"Frida has adjusted brilliantly. On the ride home to Tucson,

she slept almost all the way in her carrier (bed)  The 1st night I was prepared for yelping but a 10:30 i put her in her crate beside my bed and not a peep out of her until 5:30 the next morning  I thought o.k., she's exhausted  from all of the excitement the first day. But every night th esame drill. She goes right to sleep.  A couple of nights she cried softky at about 3 am.  I took her outside, she did her thing and went back to bed for 3 more hours everynight the same drill.  She goes right to sleep.  A couple of night she cried softly about 3 am and I took her out and she did her thing and then right back to bed for 3 more hours.  During the day I put her in an open  metal crate and she settles down in a minute or so.  every 1.5 to 2 hours I bring her out for a bit.  in the evening I spend more time playing and training  she is already on spot with come and sit.  She has quite an appetite!  She is very inquisitive and able to play by herself some of the time.  Not needy.  Whatever it is you are doing to prepare your pups keep it up!  I'll keep you posted.  Lauren

I wanted to give you an update on our sweet baby Lemmy!

His growing upward has about leveled out coming to just about my keen, and he's been about 22 pounds for the past few months.  He graduated from PetSmart Advanced Obedience class and is a registered AKC Good Citizen Caine!! I am in the process of getting him into the Dog Therapy International program so he can visit area nursing homes. We  have already been several times to local home where a good friend works. He is a hit!! He was bit shy at first but now he readily takes treats from anyone for a trick.

Next month we start Advance 2 Obedience where I plan to register him as my Service Working dog. He is still a part of our family and we love him so much. He's definitely a Momma's boy!

Well all I can say is that this is the best puppy we have ever had.  He came to us so friendly and happy and was potty trained in no time. Everyone loves him and he really doesn't shed! When we take him out, people stop us constantly and rave about how beautiful he is. Now I'm ready to get a girl.  Thank you so much for our mini labradoodle-we adore him.

Cathy

Dear Carolyn and Family,
I can't believe we have reached 5 months.  Oz has been such an easy adorable dog. I wanted to officially thank you for meeting and exceeding my expectations of a breeder.  Being the daughter of a veterinarian and a first time Dane owner (as you know) I did my research.  I got to learn what to expect from the Dane breed and their personality.  Wow though Oz is 100% greater than any book I read in terms of looks and personality.  I am not surprised, as most people know it is so important to find and research your breeder.  We did that.  My dad told me all the things to look for ie: Parents on premises, their eyes, their coats, the personality of the parents, and of course to make sure the breeder could answer my questions.  The part we did not expect was to find a family who welcomed us into their home, Someone who was so kind and patient with my boys.  You allowed us not to just see the pups but to hold them all so we could pick the perfect puppy for us (see photo of me in crate) LOL  At no time did I feel like I asked too many questions or that we stayed too long. (Although I think we might have).

Oz is an amazing puppy because he began his life with love, socialization, in a clean comfortable indoor life.  He is commenting because you love and truly care about the breed and to improving the blood lines.  For all of this and more,we thank you!!!

Anyone who wants a Great Dane and doesn't get one from you, in my opinion, they would be making a mistake.  As I explained to you I talked to many breeders and went to see other puppies none compared to AZ DANES N DOODLES.  The very best is 5 months later and you still answer my questions and emails. You have become our friend and someone I know I can count on with all my dog concerns.  If I can ever do anything for you just let me know.  Please pass on my name and number to anyone who wants to know what it is like to get a puppy from you!
 All My Very Best,

Hilary

a beautiful Great Dane (we are stopped constantly by people

Molly is 15 lbs.  Two weeks total to potty train/dog door.  So far no chewing other than her toys, loves the dog park and doggy day care!  Molly brings true joy to our family.  Carole

Also, I thought I should mention that she does not shed AT ALL...not even when we brush her or bathe her.  I love it!  But really why we wanted to her is for my husbands allergies.  As you know he was tested and the results were positive for dog allergy.  She doesn't bother him at all - it's such a blessing for our family!  So, thanks yet again!!

Oh - and EVERY TIME I take her to the vet, while we're in the lobby at least three different people each time comment how beautiful she is.
